Psalm 126:1-3 says, “When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’ The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”
It was all a dream. In Psalm 126, the poignant words “..we were like men who dreamed, our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy” resonate with a profound sense of hope and victory. This psalm captures the essence of a surreal experience, akin to the feeling of stepping into a dream where laughter and joy abound. The psalmist’s expression reflects a journey from despair to a reality that surpasses even the wildest dreams. It’s a testament to the transformative power of God, who orchestrates restorations that exceed human imagination.
In contemplating the connection to “it was all a dream,” the resonance deepens. The assurance that God’s restoration goes beyond what we can fathom serves as an encouragement to step out in faith. When facing challenges, uncertainties, or even dreams yet to be realized, embracing faith and trusting in God opens the door to a beauty that surpasses our wildest imaginings.
So, with the echoes of Psalm 126, the invitation is clear: take that next step in faith, and witness the unfolding of a narrative more beautiful and extraordinary than we could have ever dreamed.
I promise, it’ll be worth it.
